Carina Maiwald has always been intrigued by horses. They’re full of emotion, to the point of being human-like. She was so inspired by these majestic animals, she found the courage to quit her unfulfilling job and become an equine photographer. A couple years later, she’s successfully living her dream and has met over 300 horses, all of them unique.
Maiwald writes in a story by Bored Panda:
Did you know that horses can be funny on purpose? Or have you ever experience a mother’s love for her newborn foal? As we humans, horses feel love, want to take care of each other, and also can be very mean or even cruel sometimes. But exactly this is what I like about them: They are a composition of opposites.
It’s these personalities and deep-rooted emotions that Maiwald strives to capture on film. Through her work, she’s also been able to illustrate the beautiful bond that horses and humans share.
“I hope to inspire people to see beyond their plain beauty – because there’s more to them than just facile looks,” she writes in the story.

Aren’t these just breathtaking?! I’d say she successfully captured many aspects of a horse’s spirit, including the love that they share with their humans! It’s like looking at a fairytale.
