Patricia Bumgarner is passionate about America’s Mustangs. Her motto is “Let’m Live Free, and Die Free in the Wild.” She hopes her pictures will inspire Americans to fight for the wild horses’ protection and for better treatment of them.
“Why do I love these wild animals? What’s not to love about them?” Bumgarner told iHeartHorses.com “I have a bad knee and when I get out and around them, I don’t feel the pain, they are so beautiful to be around. To watch the newborns taking their first steps, it’s something a lot of people have lost touch with, all the nature around us.
“How many have seen two stallions fight to protect their families. And yes their families’ bands are just as tight as we are with our families? I just had video of a mare calling out to another mare and yearling that became lost from the band.”
While taking pictures of these wild beauties may sound easy, it’s not. The last time she went out, she was threatened and told to never come back it would “get ugly for her.” But that’s not going to stop Bumgarner her, she told us she is “not stopping and she is not afraid.”
