Due to their long history as prey animals, horses are naturally fearful of the unknown.
Magic's owner had never attempted to ride him in the river before the day this video was shot. At first, Magic is clearly nervous, rearing back and resisting her efforts to lead him into the water. Finally, he puts his trust in his young rider and steps into the river - that's when the cuteness really begins!
Commenters on the original video expressed varying opinions for why Magic stomps when entering the water. Some say he was simply mimicking his rider's movements, while others felt it was an instinctual attempt to scare away unseen dangers like snakes.
Whatever the cause of Magic's water dance, I think we can all agree it is pretty darn adorable! Way to conquer your fear, Magic!
