8-Year-Old Requests Donations To Horse Rescue Instead Of Birthday Gifts

Ryder Perryman has always loved horses, but when she saw the film, Emma's Chance featuring the life-saving work of Red Bucket Equine Rescue in Chino Hills, California she was inspired to get involved.

With her eighth birthday approaching, Ryder came up with the idea to dedicate her special day to the needy horses at Red Bucket in lieu of gifts for herself.

The generous little girl and her parents travelled from their home in San Diego with more than $700 worth of items from the rescue's wishlist - carried in red buckets, of course!

"It says a lot about her parents," said Susan Peirce, the founder of Red Bucket Equine Rescue. "It also says a lot about Ryder and this next generation of children who really care about the horses."

The organization has helped more than 350 horses over the past nine years and found homes for about 241 of them, according to Peirce.
