Lisa Beech has been battling cancer since she was 15 years old.. Now 49, she was admitted to hospice and told she has “just days” left.
Her daughter, Amanda Sturgill, wanted to something special for her mom, who was handling the situation with grace and dignity.
“She said ‘If this is God’s will, this is God’s will,’” Sturgill told local news WKYT.
So Sturgill decided that Jake, Beech’s Appaloosa, had to go to the hospital.
Beech had rescued Jake sixteen years ago.
With the help of McConathy Farm Rescue Team, Sturgill was able to get Jake to see Beech one last time.
“Her face just lit up with so much joy and so much excitement. His ears went forward when he heard her talking, and he was marching up there like he was going to go into the hospital if he needed to,” Sturgill told the news.
Beech was able to spend 15 minutes with her beloved Jake. Watch their beautiful goodbye below:
What a bittersweet day. But Sturgill believes her mom and Jake won’t be separated forever. “She’ll see him again one day,” she said.
