You can take the horse out of the race, but not the race out of the horse.
Nick Bull learned this the hard way when he took retired racehorse, Shamrock, out for what was meant to be a “gentle trot.” Shamrock had other ideas.
Nick posted his video on YouTube after Shamrock took him for what he has called, “the ride of my life.” He can be heard exclaiming “Whoa!” repeatedly, but Shamrock is clearly enjoying his run!
Nick has ridden Shamrock several times before, but never at the speed shown here. He says, "On this day, he forgot he was retired, or that I'm not that experienced a rider..." It’s okay to laugh - both Nick and Shamrock are just fine!
