5. Fence Off Dangerous Areas
Sometimes the natural geography of the land contains areas that are more dangerous for horses. Areas that consistently have deep mud can create a risk of strained or torn tendons or ligaments. Very rocky areas put your horse at risk of slipping and potentially bruising his hooves. And creeks or ponds can create icy areas in the winter. If your pasture has dangerous areas, it’s best to fence them off so that your horse can’t access them.
